I microwaved a DVD, then broke it with my hands, angled it so the reflections generated a lot of color, and took a picture!

This is beautiful! I had microwaved CDs before just for the light show (in my youth)... but i never realized how beautiful the surface looks!

Thanks! Just gotta hold them at the right angle to see it... (and DVDs work much better than CDs). :)

loved them all, color is always a pleaser, the random patterns & graceful beauty that result from the destruction is very poetic. this one in particular seems to be loaded with emotion. :)

Yeah - I find that destruction usually results in very appealing patterns and colors... not just in DVDs, but things like rust, mold, etc. :)

This is very beautiful! The colors and shapes are fantastic! *now really really wants to microwave a DVD, but suspects her family would object strenuously* You take really remarkable macro shots. :)

Thanks! Be careful if you do - they spark pretty intensely!

Your welcome C:

Woah, sounds awesome! Does it make any weird noises and sparks while microwaving though? :O

It does - it sparks a lot. The 'cracks' all over it are from electricity melting parts of it, and they still look like the electricity... it's neat.
